I know there was a VC++ 2.0 learning edition. This would probably work
fine, but make sure you make all your projects 32 bit.
There was VC++ 1.5 (16 bit only), and VC++ 2.0, which had 32
and 16 bit stuff, and then they went to VC++ 4.0, which dropped
16 bit support, but left win32s support, and VC++ 4.1, which dropped
win32s in favor of 32bit only.
